Fringe Toast
Let us raise our figurative glasses (or perhaps our literal water bottles?) in celebration of the marginal spaces, the border realms, the rim, the skirt, the fringe. Three cheers for the non-places, the fissures, and the seams! Destinations are dandy, but in between the destinations are the thresholds, the openings, the portals of possibilities. At destinations we are likely to find "or"; between, we may encounter "and." The peripheral is central to our practice and so let us this week again honor the fullness of the empty, the fine features of the nondescript. Huzzah!
