Passage #454: 16 May 2018
Connective Consciousness
We often find ourselves surprised to discover the ways in which this-or-that street or neighborhood can be connected to this-or-that-other street or neighborhood. In a certain (rather literal-minded) sense, these sorts of revelations are a bit silly. After all, the city comprises a continuous surface; everything is, in fact, connected to everything else. But because our sense of a place is defined by our experiences, and because our experience of the city is often quite discontinuous, we find ourselves presented with a city in fragments, which we must stitch together if we want to make any sense of the whole. And so we will, bit by bit, on bicycles.
So, yes: more of our usual thing, really.
