Chiaroscuro
Riding in the rain is not much fun, we think most people would agree. But riding after a rain is actually pretty nice, at night especially. The rain changes the character of the city. The landscape is a bit higher-contrast, a bit more serene. Certain details pop out, and others recede. In a city where it rains so infrequently, the rain offers us one way to see the place in a different light. The water that a few hours before would have been a terrible inconvenience (or just an excuse to go bowling) now presents a unique opportunity, of which we will take full advantage tonight.
