Passage #431: 29 November 2017
Hasty Pudding
It would be great if we always had the time to plan our rides well in advance, proper time to conceptualize them and scout the route and write interesting, clever things about them. Alas, such is not the case. Often (sorry to shatter any illusions here) our rides are thrown together at more or less the last minute, with no "conceptualization," no scouting. But the upside of having done this for a rather long time is that we'd like to think we are at this point fairly adept at quickly drawing up a recipe for fun (not always so good about the cleverness in the description but, well, we try).
Aaaaanyway, this is one of those hasty routes. But we'd like to think it is still thick with all those things for which we are known: some new places to explore, reached by pathways of a slightly ridiculous nature; some ups, some downs; you'll probably be lost much of the time; views; etc. And, even if it does turn out that we have cooked up somewhat of a mess (trails not as hospitable as one might like? connections not connecting?), it will no doubt still be a rather adventurous meal. Yum!
