Après Le Déluge
Sometimes, when we build a thing, it seems like we've made a lasting mark, a feature that will be around for generations to come. Even if we are modest enough to recognize that our works are ephemeral, as all things must be, we cannot help but feel that they represent some victory against the forces of entropy. But of course, sometimes we don't plan very well, and the forces of entropy are happy to point out the flaws in our plan.
